Penn College Horticulture Student Awarded $1,000 Scholarship
A student in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Natural Resources Management was awarded a $1,000 scholarship during the recent Professional Landscape Network’s Student Career Days at Kansas State University. Daniel A. Endy, a landscape/horticulture technology: landscape emphasis major from Pottstown, won the Jacobsen Landscape Design and Construction Scholarship, among $70,400 in awards presented by The Professional Landcare Network Academic Excellence Foundation during PLANET's 36th annual Student Career Days in Manhattan, Kan.
Endy was among a dozen Penn College students who competed during the March 22-25 event, accompanied by horticulture instructor Carl J. Bower Jr. and Ronald Burger, a 1978 nursery management graduate of Williamsport Area Community College, a Penn College predecessor. Committed to the advancement of professionals in the green industry, PLANET AEF was created to help green industry students fund their education. The organization presented 59 scholarships at a special opening reception sponsored by STIHL Inc.
