Jacobsen Landscape Leading Lecture Series at Montvale Library In March
With spring right around the corner and local residents beginning to think about their outdoor landscapes and gardens, the Montvale Public Library is holding two seminars led by professionals from Jacobsen Landscape Design and Construction.
* The first, "Principles of Landscape Design," is set for Thursday, March 4, at 7:00 p.m. at the Montvale Public Library. The informative session will be led by Michael Hartman, Jacobsen Landscape Design Consultant, and will focus on helping the landscape do-it-yourselfer understand the best and most productive way to design and maintain his or her own landscape. The session will be a straightforward, no-nonsense look at the ideas behind designing a home garden and landscape.
* On Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m., Hartman will return to lead a discussion on "Creating an Herb Garden." For both beginners and experienced gardeners, the seminar will teach the basics of herb garden design and will focus on choosing and caring for the proper mix of herbs for cooking, medicinal or other household and personal uses.
Michael Hartman is a graduate of the Landscape Development Program at SUNY-Cobleskill and has been a designer at Jacobsen Landscape for the past four years. His landscape design work has been featured prominently in New Jersey's (201) Home Magazine's Spring 2009 issue on "Five Amazing Backyards" and he was recently the recipient of a state-level landscape design award.
Jacobsen Landscape Design and Construction's offices and Design Center are on Godwin Avenue in Midland Park, with a second Landscape and Garden?Gallery located in historic Barnstable Court in Saddle River.
