Glenn Jacobsen, CLP Leadership Award
Glenn Jacobsen, CLP, a twenty four year resident of Allendale, has received one of the most prestigious awards in the Green Industry.
The Lawn & Landscape 2009 Leadership Awards recognize eight of the Industry's leaders. Lawn and Landscape Magazine is the leading trade magazine in the Green Industry. The award was presented October 30, 2009 in Louisville, Kentucky at the national Green Industry Conference.
Glenn was recognized for his leadership and commitment to giving back to the community, to the Green Industry and to the multitude of churches and ministries in urban areas which he serves. He has been active in the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) for over 15 years in various capacities. He is a Trailblazer for the organization, mentoring other companies nationwide, as well as currently serving on several committees. He and his wife Melissa are Ambassadors of AEF, the Academic Excellence Foundation of PLANET, having donated $25,000 to the scholarship fund for student scholarships. He has hosted internship programs at Jacobsen Landscape for students from SUNY Cobleskill and Penn State University for over 10 years, as well as hosting students in the landscape programs at Ramapo and Indian Hills High Schools. He has been an Advisory Board member for the Bergen Community College Horticulture Program for many years.
He currently serves as a Board Member for Star of Hope Ministries in Paterson. He is also the co-founder of Servant's Heart Ministries, an organization of local contractors that serve the needy. His company and the talented and compassionate employees who work there participate in numerous charitable events on a regular basis. "It's important to give back as much as you can at whatever level you can," he says. And he is one who truly puts his money where his mouth is, supporting charities and causes he believes in. He has worked consistently and has made a significant impact on many churches and ministries within the cities of New Orleans, Paterson and Newark.
Jacobsen is the founder and CEO of Jacobsen Landscape Design & Construction, Inc., a full service landscape Design Build company based in Midland Park. The company provides design build, maintenance, garden and lawn care, irrigation, drainage, lighting and commercial snow plowing services. The company has won numerous state and national awards for its projects over its 30 year history. They opened a new Design Center and Landscape Gallery in Saddle River last year to showcase its work as well as an outreach for educational seminars and community events.
