An Internship experience is a vitally important tool for helping to determine the course of your career. As a Jacobsen Landscape intern, you will be provided a comprehensive overview of all aspects of the green industry. Our Internships are geared towards students currently enrolled in Landscaping or Horticulture programs, and provide opportunities for students to gain practical hands on knowledge and experience by rotating through each of our departments: Design, Construction, Maintenance, Irrigation / Lighting, and Administration. Internships are paid and we offer subsidized housing.
Interns are each paired with a professional mentor who will provide support and guidance throughout the internship. Here at Jacobsen, many of our employees started their careers with us as interns, and we aim to hire these individuals as full time employees after graduation.

The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader is the primary contact to the client and is the front-line leader in the performance and delivery of high quality landscape maintenance services provided by the company. The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader performs, supervises and coordinates activities of 2-3 Crew Members in accordance with contract specifications and with the safety of the team, clients and the public in mind.
-Demonstrate good care, cleanliness and custody of truck, trailer, tools and equipment by following preventative maintenance procedures.-Plans, delegate and execute all activities associated with the given accounts, including, but not limited to: pruning, plant health care, small job installations, fertilization, and pest management.-Teach team members proper horticultural practices using industry specifications and company standards.
The Irrigation and Lighting Service Tech/Supervisor is responsible for performing daily scheduled service work, suggesting irrigation enhancements to clients and preparing proposals, and supervising irrigation and lighting systems to the highest professional quality. The individual is also responsible for crew management, following company policies, industry guidelines, safety procedures, and all applicable laws.

The Residential Design/Build Salesperson has the primary responsibility for the successful execution of the Jacobsen sales generation lead conversion program and the attainment of budgeted gross margin. The Salesperson is responsible for achieving budgeted sales and gross margin and for fulfilling the needs and expectations of the clients. The Salesperson is measured on his/her ability to achieve the profit goals and client satisfaction objectives for each client on each project.
The D/B Project Supervisor is responsible for supervising multiple (3 to 5) construction projects on a daily basis. This highly motivated, enterprising individual must succesfully cultivate and manage the customer relationship while maintaining quality control and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
-Ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality standards in accordance to the job specifications on all jobs.-Organize and obtain materials and equipment as needed and conduct site reviews (14 days) and order mark outs in advance (5-7 days) of all jobs.-Verify site-readiness and communicate with Crew Leaders for proper scheduling of materials and labor.-Support, promote and comply with the company safety programs, policies and applicable laws, and ensure that all business activities are completed in a safe manner.
Join the Jacobsen team as a Crew Leader in our Design/Build division. Job responsibilities include directing and working with a crew in the daily progress of project assignments. The Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, quality control, and achieving daily production targets.
-Trains crew members on proper horticultural practices using industry specifications and company standards.-Demonstrates effective communication with clients daily throughout the life of the project as necessary.-Supports, promotes and complies with the company safety programs, policies and applicable laws, and ensures that all business activities are completed in a safe manner.
